About

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Centre for Ecological Change within the University of Helsinki. I received my PhD in forestry and ecology, evolutionary biology, and behavior at Michigan State University. I study how forest demographic processes (growth, mortality, regeneration) are likely to respond to future changes in climatic conditions and disturbance regimes. The goal of my research is to inform sustainable forest management to maintain healthy and productive forests in the face of uncertain future conditions. I use a variety of spatio-temporal and Bayesian hierarchical statistical modeling approaches to estimate broad-scale patterns of forest change under varying climate, disturbance, and management scenarios.
