Welcome to the Forest Dynamics Lab!
The Forest Dynamics Lab works to better understand how the composition, structure, and function of forest ecosystems are affected by global change. Our research is focused on the development of statistical models that bring together diverse forest datasets to make predictions of forest dynamics over space and time. These predictions are used to help inform adaptive management strategies to promote ecosystem resilience and adaptation. Our overall goal is to provide information that will help forest managers conserve forest ecosystems and the myriad services they provide under rapidly changing global conditions. See our research page to learn more.
The Forest Dynamics Lab is part of the Department of Environmental Conservation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. We are committed to creating and fostering a diverse and positive lab community that is welcoming of all students and researchers.
